Sources of the Problem

Transportation: Burning fossil fuels releases a great amount of greenhouse gases in the air. As of 2017, 93.4% of American households own at least one car; however, to dramatically decrease the amount of greenhouse gases released, people should switch over to using public transportation (such as a bus or subway), or better yet just simply use a bike, which release zero greenhouse gases.

Electricity: The production of electricity requires a great amount of fossil fuels, with it's biproducts being greenhouse gases. Many people use inefficient lightbulbs or simply leave on unused or unneeded, wasting fossil fuels and releasing unneeded greenhouse gases.

Agriculture: Raising cattle for meat greatly contributes to global warming. Cattle release large amounts of methane, which is a greenhouse gas. Due to the high demand for meat in America, the number of cattle farmed has increased to meet the demand. unfortunately, this also means an increase in methane gas.
